Employer
branding can
be defined as the image of the firm as a recruiter or the reputation of our organization
as a ‘great place to work’ in the minds of employees. So it is mainly concerned
with the recruitment, training, learning, development, appraisal and retention
initiatives of the organization.
There is a big difference
between branding of product and employer. The latter one is the opinion about the firm that candidates have built and
what it might be like to work for the firm.
Product branding on the other hand is the brand reliability in the minds
of the customer about the product line being offered by the firm. Brand Marketing is done to earn revenue and growth through the product line offered
whereas employer branding is done to
build good image of the firm as an employer.
Internal and External Communication
There
are two types of communication process in a firm. One is internal communication,
which is between employees and their bosses and the other is external
communication, which is between firm, external stakeholders, clients and
customers. Both type of communication is essential for a good Employer branding company as without proper communication a firm cannot
grow. Communication helps employees and employers take right decisions, it
helps in solving grievances of customers as well as employees, it helps in
maintaining good relationship with clients and so on.
Recognition and Rewards
Well-organized
reward plans, have beneficial effect on the entire firm. When the employees are
happy then their loyalty and productive output is naturally high. In case, proper
recognition and reward are not given to adepts then it can be threatening
source for building lower assurance about the firm. Two types of compensation plans
are followed by firms which are, primary compensation and incentive based
compensation. Primary compensation is basic non variable pay based on
performance and merit. Incentive compensation on the other hand is variable
payment based on time spent, productive output, behavior and so on.
Equal Opportunity
Equal
opportunity should be provided based on qualification, experience and skills. Discrimination
of employees by employers on the basis of caste, creed, sex, religion etc. should
not be done. It spoils the employer’s brand reputation and develops a bad
creditability about the firm.
Training and Development
Employees
gain experience through learning which in turn leads to development of
employees. Employees work in organization both for firms as well as
self-development by gaining varied experiences. So if proper training is not
provided to the employees in a firm then it is surely not one of the best
places to work. Training and development must be provided to new employees and
experienced candidates as well.
Good Working Environment
It is
very important for the firm to have a good working environment because without this,
an employee may not be able to communicate properly with their co-worker or
boss. He may not be able to express decisions taken by him confidently. Another
important factor that contributes towards good working environment is cleanliness
of the firm. Most of the Best employer branding companies in India become one of the best places to work by paying
attention towards this factor as it is rightly said “cleanliness is next to Godliness”.
Safety
measures taken by the firm should be given utmost importance.
Recruitment and Lower Turnout
Regular
recruitment of eligible candidates must be done to meet employee demands of the
firm. Right candidates must be selected through proper selection process along
with background verification so that there is lower turnout. High rate of attrition
develops low employer brand morale in the minds of employees. Workers would not
join the organization thinking that they might lose their jobs. Some of the Best employers branding company have
lower attrition rates.
